Lavender’s Blue Homeschool is posting about The Festival of Lights today. This great post is full of history and ideas for celebrating the holiday and even has recordings of the candle lighting prayer and a Chanukah song. Here in my home, we celebrate Chanukah too, and the holiday begins next Wednesday night, overlapping with Thanksgiving this year, a rare event!
The theme of lights during this season begins for me with the Lantern Festival and I carry a line from one of the songs in my heart: “Each of us is one small light, but together we shine bright.”
I am grateful to be part of the Holiday Blog Hop 2013 hosted by my friends at Sure as the World and Waldorf Salad and Cottage Fries. More posts to come all the way through New Year’s from a great group of bloggers and thoughtful Mamas.
